Stained Glass Garden

I have been working with stained Glass for more than 16 years, starting out in the traditional way, by making leaded glass panels and windows. It wasn't long before I began to push the limits, and experimenting with this wonderful medium. Three-dimensional objects interested me, and I made the obvious leap to mosaics. I believe that stained glass is the perfect material for mosaics. The colors are endless, and it is available in almost any texture and style that you can imagine. There are many different finishes for glass such as irridized, dichroic, and mirrored. The possibilities are endless!

For several years, I concentrated on outdoor mosaics for the garden such as birdbaths, benches, and stepping stones. Gradually, my clients started requesting mosaics for inside their homes, and I began to shift my focus. Counter tops, backsplashes, and entire walls are now regularly commissioned by my clients. I have also enjoyed participating in many charity events such as GuitarMania and Horse f a Different Color, and Year of the Pig/Ox......, and many others.

Recently I purchased two kilns and a torch, and I am experimenting with these new ways of manipulating glass. I can now fuse glass to make new materials for my mosaics, and I am making glass beads and fused glass jewelry just for fun! There is always something new and interesting going on in my studio!
